Occupational Therapist

OTR/L - Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Must be a graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy and licensed as an OTR/L in the state of Texas.

Certified as an OT for a minimum of two-years, unless prior approval is granted by the Executive Director.

Ability to work with a variety of clients in regard to age, functionality, and with minimal direction.

Driver’s insurance on file with HR Department
-
Transportation that is reliable
-
Successfully pass a background check
-
Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook systems
-
Ability to utilize a fax machine, phone system, and other office materials as necessary for the position

Ability to respond quickly to phone calls, text messages, and emails
-
Flexible availability which includes Monday through Friday 8am-5pm

Job Goal:
​
OTR/L will provide all aspects of occupational therapy to our learners including assessments, progress reports and documentation for insurance to ensure progress and access to services for the learners at TAG.
OTR/L will collaborate with other professionals to ensure that the services provided are producing meaningful progress in the life of the child.

Responsibilities:

Completing Assessments of the learners physical, communication and cognitive skills and develop a treatment plan, progress reports and other clinical documentation to ensure that meaningful progress is being made

Assisting in reports for insurance to ensure that learners are able to access care.

Providing parent support for family members and caregivers

Reviewing the patient’s progress and adapting the treatment accordingly

Performing administrative tasks such as keeping records, writing reports and making telephone calls
